How to book an appointment on the South Campus

What are the benefits of booking a consultation with the Write Site?
The Write Site assists students with specific assignments that form part of their undergraduate courses. We focus on argumentation, organisation/structure, and language, amongst others, and do not edit students’ work. The sessions are collaborative because consultants guide students through identifying and correcting their mistakes, while making suggestions on how to improve their text and their academic writing overall. You are welcome to come as often as you like – it is a free service, and we are happy to assist you.
The 2-step booking process

Step 1: Make a booking by sending an e-mail with your documents to the Write Site

Attach your assignment instructions and assignment draft.
Email: writesiteSC@ufs.ac.za
In the email, include:

  • Name and surname
  • Student number
  • Module Code
  • Phone number
  • Date and time of booking
Please note: bookings can only be made two working days in advance. If we do not receive the two documents mentioned above at least two working days in advance, the session may be cancelled on the system and you will need to rebook. The Write Site does not operate on weekends, public holidays and university holidays.

Please note: Consultations are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:00-15:00

 Step 2: Wait on a confirmation e-mail

In response to Step 1, you will receive a booking confirmation e-mail from the Write Site (writesiteSC@ufs.ac.za). This e-mail will contain crucial session details that you will use to attend your consultation on the scheduled day and time.

You can contact us in the following ways:

  1. Email us at writesiteSC@ufs.ac.za
  2. Phone us at +27 (0) 51 401 7402

Take note:
The consultant can only assist you with the draft paper you sent to us when making the booking. If you wish to be assisted with an updated version, please contact us to rebook your online session. Please bring a copy of the most recent version of the assignment (either printed out or on a device).
The Write Site South Campus consultations take place inside the Neville Alexander library. Once inside, ask for the venue at the information desk.
