Research:
I completed my PhD at Rhodes University in 2013 and am currently Deputy Director in the Centre for Biological Control, a centre of excellence in South Africa. In partnership with the Afromontane Research Unit (ARU), I am leading a project on high elevation invasive weed species; for this purpose, I am hosted ‘in residence’ in the ARU. I am also the lead researcher on the biological control programme against the invasive aquatic weed Sagittaria platyphylla (Delta Arrowhead). Some of my research interests include high elevation invasive species; geographic information system (GIS); biological control of weeds; and abiotic and biotic drivers of species invasions. I have contributed to more than 29 publications and worked on several projects, including biological control of invasive grasses and freshwater management in South Africa.
