Nine UFS researchers nominated for the ‘Science Oscars’

The UFS boasts 12 nominations for the prestigious 2023/2024 NSTF-South32 Awards, popularly known as the “Science Oscars” of South Africa – the most the university has ever received. Two ARU affiliated academics, Prof Peter Taylor and Prof Sandy-Lynn Steenhuisen, were also nominated.

Second Southern African Mountain Conference announced

On 5 March 2024, the first announcement went out for the Second Southern African Mountain Conference (SAMC2025). SAMC2025 will take place next year from 17 to 20 March at Champagne Sports Resort. The theme for the upcoming conference is Southern African Mountains – Overcoming Boundaries and Barriers.
