Research:

I am a Lecturer and Head of the Community Development Programme. My research interest areas include applied social research in the areas of community development – particularly social entrepreneurship and youth sociology. Other interests are community development theory, community development method and analysis, curriculum development in the social sciences, and qualitative research. I have also presented articles at various social science forums in South Africa and internationally.

I am also the inaugural Programme Head for the Community Development degree, and recently supervised the first cohort of graduates from this programme in 2020. The Community Development programme has applied for further postgraduate programmes and are currently undergoing approval.
