Short CV

Mr L.J.B. Erasmus received his M.Sc. degree in 2018 from the University of the Free State for his dissertation “Developing an optical thermometry system for phosphor materials”. In 2018 he joined the Physics Department of the University of the Free State, where he is currently a Junior Researcher. His research mainly focuses on photonic materials, solar cells, and light-emitting diodes. He has published fifteen papers and has an h-index of 6. Currently, he is busy with a joint doctorate between the University of the Free State and Ghent University in Belgium, which focuses on phosphor-based luminescent solar concentrators. He is also a part-time presenter at the Naval Hill Planetarium, where he develops and presents shows on various science topics.
