Takkie Tuesday and Thursday

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:55 or 16:45 staff and students at the University of the Free State’s Bloemfontein Campus keep fit with group walks.

One of the Health and Wellness Centre’s New Year’s resolutions is “to get people more active and fit, and to improve their health in general because exercise is medicine,” says Liesl Wessels, Wellness Co-coordinator.

Her advice to those who want to undergo a regime change and join the club is: “Take it one step at a time. Do not stop, just carry through − because if you stop it will be hard to get back on track.”

Join the walks and ensure that your body, soul, and mind are fit. Walking options range from three to eight kilometres.
