The Senior Director is responsible for the control and management of the university's functions with regards to human resources (HR) and labour relations, specifically the following;

  • Establish and maintain practices and procedures regarding sound labour relations
  • Ensure the best candidates are recruited and retained
  • Develop and maintain competitive and affordable remuneration and policies
  • Administer and maintain staff records – provide staff-related management information
  • Ensure open communication channels for staff members
  • Advise staff about work-related matters
  • Perform research regarding wellness in the workplace

The Officer: Office Manager of Human Resources is responsible for the following:

  • All secretarial tasks related to the Office of the Senior Director;
  • National and international travel arrangements;
  • Organise functions, workshops and other social events;
  • Bookings of committee rooms on the 3rd floor of the George du Toit Administration Building.
