SHORTENED OVERVIEW
I seek to serve the University, the Department of Industrial Psychology, and the National and International Community through my professional expertise in the field of Career Psychology. I also seek to serve on a micro- and macro level by applying my experience, knowledge and skills, and innovative techniques in my teaching, research and community engagement role, employing my various networking, leadership and organising skills. I am registered at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the South Africa Career Development Association (SACDA) and the Psychology Society of South Africa (PsySSA). My focus areas include Career Psychology, Psychometric Assessment, Career Construction, and Life Designing as a counselling and intervention method focusing on the Performing Arts community and Neurodiversity.

• Elaborate on the issues impacting the emergence of career psychology within the South African context and the challenges thereof in contemporary South Africa.
• Appraise the appropriateness and usefulness of career development and career counselling paradigms, approaches, theories, and strategies when applied to real-life issues.
• Apply the career management process to contemporary issues in the field of career psychology, such as mentorship and entrepreneurial and international careers.
Advanced Career Psychology (ECAP6824) Professional Masters
After successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Elaborate on the background and context of career psychology
• Discover the career management process from an individual and organisational perspective.
• Evaluate the competencies the industrial psychologist needs to apply to ensure an effective career counselling process.
• Evaluate the traditional and contemporary theories and models of career choice in the career counselling process.
• Manage the career counselling process in terms of the different phases.
• Discover the impact special populations have on the career counselling process.
