This office has full responsibility and accountability for;

high-profile events and visits that take place both on campus and across the country, and for ensuring that the Liaison Office projects the best possible image of the Faculty of Health Sciences and planning, coordinating, and implementing a multi-faceted marketing strategy to recruit undergraduate students, allowing the faculty to promote high-quality education within a dynamic institution. The office leads efforts to safeguard and enhance the image of the faculty  by offering a professional and pro-active marketing and communication services by building the UFS brand through effective internal and external communication programmes.

Website content management and social media management 

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring and updating the faculty's website
  • Conduct content checks to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information
  • Create relevant website content that aligns with the faculty's strategy
  • Work with all staff and management to ensure your website is aligned with your brand strategy and meet the faculty's standards
  • Manage and update all social media content of the faculty

Faculty Publications

  • Writing articles for the faculty publications (website and newsletter)
  • Take pictures during faculty events
  • Coordinate faculty communication
  • Media monitoring of the faculty
  • Prepare all communication and marketing material
  • Develop communication and marketing material aimed at undergraduate students
  • Act as the liaison between the faculty and the Department of Communication and Marketing

Student Recruitment 

  • Offer career advice and motivational talks
  • Communicate with top achievers to market the programmes available in the faculty
  • Arrange all marketing drives for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Attend subject selection evenings for grade 9 learners at schools, in order to provide information to learners on the subject requirements for qualifications in the Health Sciences

General administration

  • Prepare invitations, certificates and programme booklets for functions in the faculty
  • Manage the procurement of communication and marketing materials for the faculty and departments
  • Attend to any ad hoc requests from the Dean, Vice-Dean and Faculty Manager from time to time
  • Draft a yearly budget for all activities in the office and do all financial management in terms of the office and activities in the office
  • Support and help with visits of all guests to the faculty as required
  • Report to faculty management on all activities in the office on a regular basis
