IPP (Integrated Partnership Programmes)

The traditional notion of a service provider implies a clear segregation between the service provider itself and the community it serves. Furthermore, service providers compete with one another to become the provider of choice. It is in this regard that ICT wishes to become functionally entrenched in the business of the UFS, not as a mere service provider but as a value contributor and a key enabler of the UFS business domain. ICT needs to be trusted, to be the provider of first call, share in the profit and losses of the community, and become the key digital integrator of the UFS community.

As an engagement model to the Integrated Partnership Programme, each member of the ICT ManCo is appointed as an advocate to a predetermined list of Department Heads and Faculty Deans. These advocates will meet with everybody on their respective list on a quarterly basis. The meetings are scheduled by our central administration group in advance to ensure that a convenient time for the meetings is found. In this way the ICT ManCo will collectively engage with the whole of the University Business Community to discuss developments and issues within ICT. At the same time, these advocates will also receive feedback from the Department Heads and Faculty Deans regarding the IT direction in which their respective departments or faculties are moving.
