Disability Rights - Short Learning Programmes

The Short Learning Programme offers participants a comprehensive understanding of disability rights from both international and African perspectives, with a strong focus on their application within the South African context. It explores the evolution of disability as a human rights issue, the influence of different models of disability, and the legal frameworks that underpin the promotion and protection of these rights. Participants will examine how relevant frameworks translate into domestic duties, including the government’s constitutional and legislative obligations to respect, protect, promote, and fulfil disability rights, ensure reasonable accommodation, and remove barriers to full and effective participation in society.

  • Practical 8-week programme on Learning Level 5.
  • Requirements for admission: Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or Grade 8 with 3 years of relevant work experience
