1. What impact has GradStar had on your life in 2024?

GradStar has opened up so many career opportunities for me. The mentorship sessions, where we met sponsors and asked questions, were especially insightful. I also connected with like-minded students and even made a few friends before the main event. Adding the #GradStarTop100 tagline on LinkedIn has brought more recognition too, especially from recruiters. Overall, it was a great positive experience on my journey.

2. How do you stay motivated and on track with your studies?

Having strong support from my family and friends back home was key. They kept me grounded when university life felt overwhelming. Honestly, I’m a big procrastinator, but I’ve turned it into a strength by focusing hard when I do work and making sure it’s top quality.

I stay inspired by reading books (I know, I know – boring) and keeping up with the latest trends in tech and science – it’s exciting to see what’s possible and this pushes me to keep learning.

To stay organised, I use a simple pen-and-paper checklist system. I read that doctors use checklists to manage their busy schedules, so I adopted the same approach, and it works!

3. What drives you to excel in your studies?

I’m inspired by technology and science pioneers of all shapes and sizes who have dedicated their lives to advancing humanity. Learning about their journeys and contributions motivates me to work hard so I can also make a meaningful impact one day. Standing on the shoulders of giants is what drives me to excel – I want to be part of the progress.

4. Will you recommend GradStar to other students?

Absolutely! GradStar helps students get recognised as employable young professionals and connects them with potential employers. The awards and recognition are something you will cherish forever. This is a fantastic opportunity, and I would encourage every student to apply.

5. What are your plans for 2025?

In 2025, I am excited to start my career as a young tech professional. I want to grow as a junior software engineer, explore what I can do with the skills I’ve gained, and also just enjoy life – go out more, meet new people, make friends, and build connections. It’s all about personal growth and starting this new chapter.
