Gender-based violence awareness campaign: photographs

The UFS has taken it upon its stride to fast track the process of gender equality since Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Francis Petersen, was appointed in April 2016. He introduced the Integrated Transformation Plan (ITP) to tackle certain issues in order to continue pushing the UFS towards being one of the best universities on the African continent. The ITP consists of seven strategic goals and objectives of how it will accelerate the transformation process on campus. In this strategy is also aims to curb gender parity and gender-based violence.

In solidarity with #EndGenderBasedViolence, we commissioned a series of photographs to use on our various communication channels, including social media and web-based platforms. As part of the campaign, we also created a URL, www.ufs.ac.za/911 with a series of emergency numbers and steps to take when reporting an incident.
