The following areas were focused on:

• Springfontein (Williamsville Primary School & Springfontein Secondary School)
• Trompsburg (Trompsburg Old Age Home & Trompsburg Secondary School)
• Philippolis (Bergmanshoogte Intermediate School & Philippolis Primary School)

The focus was mainly the schools because we realised the need for immediate and constructive action and the difference we can make by sharing the needed information and providing the youth of these areas to choose a life of wellness and balance.

The projects included the following:

• Awareness of a healthy, balanced lifestyle with sessions in the classes as well as a FUN WALK of 5 km at Bergmanshoogte and Williamsville Primary Schools.
• Empowerment of the teachers at the schools, focusing on wellness programmes that were implemented as part of the fourth-years clinical block.
• Awareness of drug and alcohol abuse at Springfontein Secondary School.
• Skills workshop with the Special Needs class at Springfontein Primary School where the students became learners again and the children within the class had the opportunity and responsibility to teach various skills to the students. The skills included; welding, spinning, weaving, making solar ovens, playing chess, and building structures out of different materials.
• a Games Day at the Trompsburg Old Age Home with the aim to improve awareness of the importance of recreational activities within the facility.

Every student came back with a new perspective, passion and purpose in LIFE!
