Psychology's Community Service Project Makes a Difference
Empowering differently-abled children through the Horse Riding Therapy Community Service Learning Project
Every person has the need to mean something to someone at some or other stage in his/her life. Is it not wonderful to know that your contribution, no matter how small, can make a major difference to someone's life? The Department of Psychology's horse riding therapy community service learning project at Equistria once again contributed to the lives of many differently-abled children this year.
The horse-riding therapy project empowers the children by giving them support and acceptance in order for them to be themselves and to live through this unconditional acceptance on a daily basis. Through therapeutic horse riding, the child is given the opportunity to address the abovementioned need. Participants and students are afforded the opportunity to work with children who are differently-abled, and consequently can see the world through their eyes.
