Research webinar on ‘Fieldwork’ in the time of COVID-19
14 April 2021 14:00

The Faculty of the Humanities cordially invites all staff to join us for a research webinar on ‘Fieldwork’ in the time of COVID-19.

By now, it has become quite commonplace to talk about how COVID-19 has changed the world. No area of work and scholarship practice was left untouched. Fieldwork practices had to be rethought – following a ‘back to basics’ approach.

  • What is ‘fieldwork’?
  • Is COVID-19 the final nail in fieldwork’s coffin?
  • What is COVID-sensitive methodology and ethics?
  • How can fieldwork be moved online?
  • How to safeguard both researcher and research participants.

Panel: Dr G Kigozi, Dr K Riedel, and Prof J Owen

Discussant/Chair: Prof D Posel

Day: Wednesday 14 April

Time: 14:00-15:30
