The UFS Library Information Services African Languages Press & Academy for Multilingualism invites you to the book launch of Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha titled “Ke Monna”. This book is for men and the women who raise boys into manhood. It is a book for both the ‘Wounded Tigers’ and the ‘Self-Actualized’ men. We are challenged to raise MEN and not BIG BOYS. More content has been refined and contextualized in this version of the book for those who can appreciate this story from a Sesotho idiom and storytelling.

Dr Jerry Mofokeng wa Makhetha is an iconic and award-winning South African actor who has appeared in several critically acclaimed films, including Cry the Beloved County; Lord of War; Mandela and de Klerk; and the 2002 Academy Award-winning film Tsotsi.  Dr Mofokeng studied at Wits Drama School where he initially took his major in acting then later went to study at Columbia University in America where he obtained his master’s degree in Theatre Directing.

Dr Mofokeng is also a recipient of an honorary doctorate at the University of the Free State.
