During the national lockdown and the period of #StayAtHome, thousands of doctors and medical staff are risking their lives for us because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On 30 March 2020, the United States is celebrating National Doctors Day.

The University of the Free State joins this initiative of the USA by saluting the many Kovsie alumni who are working in the medical field in South Africa and across the globe.

We also salute all current specialists, doctors, registrars and volunteer students rendering a daily service during this difficult time. We salute your commitment and your dedication is deeply appreciated.

They go out for us, so we should stay home for them.
