More about speaker: 


Linus Franke grew up in the Netherlands and studied Biology at Wageningen University. His first job was with the Scottish Agricultural College, involving research for weed control in India. Through this research, he obtained his PhD from the University of Glasgow. Thereafter, he worked for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nigeria. In 2007, he returned to Wageningen University where he focused on genetically modified crops, climate change, and projects that promote the cultivation of grain legumes across Africa. Since 2014, he has been employed at the University of the Free State, where he is currently the Academic Head of Department of Soil, Crop and Climate Science.
