"I am deeply grateful to the University of the Free State, and proud to be honoured by an institution of immense credibility and high standards by bestowing such an accolade on me," she said.

Dr Mlambo-Ngcuka emphasised the importance of creating a government that addresses the nation's pressing problems, including inequality, insecurity, poverty, and gender inequality.
