Central College emerged victorious in the second annual Bluetooth race presented by Kovsie ACT.
Central College claimed victory in the second annual Bluetooth race, hosted by
Kovsie ACT at the University of the Free State (UFS). West College secured second place, while the team from the Qwaqwa Campus earned third place.
Racing their cars – smaller replicas of the racing cars they built for the upcoming Kovsie Act Eco-Vehicle Race – they showcased the technical acumen and coding skills they developed through the Eco-Vehicle Skills Programme. According to Mpumelelo Ntozakhe, a member of Kovsie ACT’s Executive Committee, the students constructed the cars, using their laptops and smartphones.
Teams from the Bloemfontein Campus, Qwaqwa Campus, South Campus, and the Central University of Technology participated in the Drag Race and the Fastest Lap.
The Bluetooth race is just a taste of the bigger Eco-Vehicle Race that is scheduled to take place on Saturday 18 May 2024 at 10:00 in the Red Square parking area on the Bloemfontein Campus. Staff, students, and the community are invited to come and support the ten teams as they compete to clinch the win in the race. Watch the race below:
