The University of the Free State’s Student Representative Council (SRC) elections took place on the Bloemfontein,
Qwaqwa, and
South campuses during August.
The following candidates were successfully elected as 2019/2020 SRC members on our three respective campuses.

Student wins AngloGold Ashanti Bursar competition

Donovan Pienaar, an Honours student in B.Sc. Geology at the University of the Free State (UFS), was named overall winner in the AngloGold Ashanti Bursar Presentation of the Year 2009 competition, which was recently held in Potchefstroom. All the scholars in the company's various bursary categories, namely geology, metallurgy, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and mining took part in the competition. Donovan had to do a presentation about the projects he has done during his course and in the final round he had to do a presentation about a project given to him by the organisers.
