The University of the Free State’s Student Representative Council (SRC) elections took place on the Bloemfontein,
Qwaqwa, and
South campuses during August.
The following candidates were successfully elected as 2019/2020 SRC members on our three respective campuses.

Court interdict prohibits more unrest on Qwaqwa Campus

A court interdict was issued today (Tuesday, 20 April 2010) prohibiting any further student unrest on the Qwaqwa Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS). This court interdict follows the unrest on the campus and the damages that were caused on the campus yesterday (Monday, 19 April 2010) and this morning.
Classes on the Qwaqwa Campus were suspended with immediate effect and will resume on Wednesday, 28 April 2010 so that emotions can calm down and the damages to the campus be restored. Only registered students will then be permitted.
“Students who were responsible for the damages and violence on the Qwaqwa Campus were arrested. Those who will be found guilty will never be allowed to study at any of the three campuses of the University of the Free State,” said Prof. Jonathan Jansen, the Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the UFS.
