The University of the Free State’s Student Representative Council (SRC) elections took place on the Bloemfontein,
Qwaqwa, and
South campuses during August.
The following candidates were successfully elected as 2019/2020 SRC members on our three respective campuses.

ABSA CEO speaks at the UFS

Ms Maria Ramos, Chief Executive Officer of the ABSA Group, was the guest speaker at an Agricultural Market Prospects Workshop on the Main Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein on Wednesday, 27 October 2010. Amongst others, she discussed the South African economy and economic policies, business management and the management of businesses over the next two years. In the afternoon the attention turned to the agricultural markets – especially the international perspective, and the markets for grain, livestock and poultry – under the leadership of Prof. Johan Willemse, Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at the UFS. Ms Ramos holds an Honorary Doctorate from the UFS and Prof. Willemse is an acclaimed economist.
