Third in a row for Shimlas
2011-10-03
The Shimlas won the plate segment of the National Club Championship on Friday in Stellenbosch for a third consecutive year. Our university's rugby team triumphed over the team of Roses United with a score of 48-26 in the final.
Kovsies's eighth man, Erik le Roux, scored two of the Shimlas' tries. Le Roux was also named as the man of the match.
The Shimlas will now focus on remaining on top of the Cheetah League's log in Bloemfontein. The final term at Kovsies will also be used to prepare for the 2012 FNB Varsity Cup.
