With the second semester well underway, you may feel overwhelmed by the academic pressure and you aren’t sure how to find your way out of this maze. Dr Karen Thomas, Senior Lecturer at the University of the Free Stat's (UFS) Department of Economics, recently arranged a Skype link with the Mississippi State University in the United States of America (USA) during which a lecture on the American economy was presented directly. The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the UFS has a cooperation agreement with the Mississippi State University which includes the exchange of lecturers and students, as well as research and possible internships for their students in South Africa.
