With the second semester well underway, you may feel overwhelmed by the academic pressure and you aren’t sure how to find your way out of this maze. UFS Prof. Jo van As, Departmental Chairperson of the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the University of the Free State (UFS) was the guest speaker at this year’s first meeting of the Free State branch of the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns. The topic of his lecture was: The impact of climate changes on our resources. At the occasion were, from the left: Prof. Van As, Dr Anthea van Jaarsveld (Senior Lecturer in the Department of Afrikaans and Dutch, German and French and secretary of the academy’s Free State branch), Prof. Hennie van Coller (Chairperson of the academy and Departmental Chairperson of the Department of Afrikaans and Dutch, German and French at the UFS).
