Within the next five years, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Urban living comes with large-scale economic advantages and society benefits from economies of scale. But, COVID-19 is challenging urban living. We have introduced the term ‘social distancing’ and some policy analysts have even argued for the de-densification of cities.

Rector meets his favourite Springbok

Prof. Jonathan Jansen, Rector and Vice-Chancellor at the University of the Free State (UFS) recently had the opportunity to meet his favourite Springbok rugby player. Here are Prof. Jansen and the flank Heinrich Brüssow in conversation about Saturday’s match against the All Blacks at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein. Heinrich is a student at the UFS and will be receiving the B.Com. Economics degree in September this year.
