Within the next five years, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas.  Urban living comes with large-scale economic advantages and society benefits from economies of scale. But, COVID-19 is challenging urban living. We have introduced the term ‘social distancing’ and some policy analysts have even argued for the de-densification of cities.

Join us for a discussion where our panellists will analyse this perceived conflict.

Faculty of Law honoured students who have excelled

The Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State (UFS) honoured students who have excelled in 2005.

In the front from left are Mr Lucien Companie (best LL B student in the fourth year of study); Ms Paula Perestrelo (best first year student in the five-year LL B course); Ms Arina van der Merwe (best third year LL B student). At the back from left are Ms Nanette Hendriks (best second year LL B student); Ms Marcelle Pieterse (best student over four years of study with outstanding academic achievement) and Mr Albert Nell (best LL B student in the first year of study).
