Within the next five years, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Urban living comes with large-scale economic advantages and society benefits from economies of scale. But, COVID-19 is challenging urban living. We have introduced the term ‘social distancing’ and some policy analysts have even argued for the de-densification of cities.

Harmony management visit UFS

A high level delegation from Harmony visited the Main Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein to discuss co-operation in the fields of health, management training and mineral resources. Harmony is the fifth largest producer of gold in the world.
During the visit were, from the left, front: Prof Letticia Moja (Dean: Faculty of Health Sciences at the UFS) and Prof Frederick Fourie (Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the UFS); back: Messrs Jackie Mathebula (Executive Head of Corporate Affairs, Harmony) and Bernard Swanepoel (Chief Executive Officer of Harmony).
