Within the next five years, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Urban living comes with large-scale economic advantages and society benefits from economies of scale. But, COVID-19 is challenging urban living. We have introduced the term ‘social distancing’ and some policy analysts have even argued for the de-densification of cities.

Eight students are doing their M degree in Sport Sciences at the UFS

A group of eight students are doing their M degree in Sport Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS) this year. The students were welcomed into the programme by Mr Lourens Bekker, manager from Life Healthcare, who is a sponsor of the M degree in Sport Sciences.
Attending the occasion were, from the left: Mr Bekker, Dr Adele Lubbe from Wellington, and Dr Louis Holtzhausen, Programme Director of the M degree in Sport Sciences at the UFS. The group of students was selected from over the whole of South Africa.
