Within the next five years, 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Urban living comes with large-scale economic advantages and society benefits from economies of scale. But, COVID-19 is challenging urban living. We have introduced the term ‘social distancing’ and some policy analysts have even argued for the de-densification of cities.

Academic delivers inaugural lecture on smart nutrition

Prof. André Dannhauser, head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS) delivered her inaugural lecture on the Main Campus in Bloemfontein. The topic of the lecture was Smart nutrition: A challenge for health and wellness. Attending the lecture were, from the left: Prof. Letticia Moja (Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the UFS), Prof. Dannhauser and Prof. Frederick Fourie (Rector and Vice-Chancellor the UFS).
