Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs
Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

Qwaqwa Campus women empowered

Four empowering workshops were recently held at the Qwaqwa Campus of the University of the Free State as part of the Women’s Week programme. These grooming sessions taught women about the steps on how to package themselves for maximum impact in the workplace, their responsibilities towards effective communication, good people skills, and their roles and responsibilities in their jobs. In total, 81 women attended these grooming sessions presented by Ms Lianne Smuts from 1st Solutions. At the workshops were, from the left: Ms Margy Motsei (Secretary: Student Affairs), Dr Elize Smuts (Staff Development Facilitator), Ms Smuts and Ms Esther Hlongwane (Secretary: Accommodation Services).
