Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs
Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

Book on Youth Counselling launched at the UFS

The Handbook of Youth Counselling, with a predominant Free State flavour, was recently also launched at the University of the Free State (UFS) after an initial release at the Cape Town Book Fair in June. The majority of authors are from the UFS. At the Free State launch the following authors were present, from the left: Dr Lyzette Hoffmann (Theology), Dr Henriëtte van den Berg (Psychology), Mrs Annette Weyers (Consultant Social Worker), Prof Tony Ulyatt (former HOD of English and language editor), Prof Johnnie Hay (Psychology of Education and co-editor), Dr Annette Prins (Wellness Office) and Mrs Liesbeth van Wyk (publisher from Heinemann Publishers).
