Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

USA ambassador visits university

The Ambassador for the United States of America to South Africa, Mr Donald H. Gips (left) and his wife paid a courtesy visit to the Bloemfontein Campus on Tuesday 22 May 2012. Part of the visit included a tour of the Bloemfontein East Intermediary School, which has undergone extensive renovations with the assistance of the university. The Ambassador and Mrs Gips also had lunch with Prof. Jonathan Jansen (right), Vice-Chancellor and Rector, and his wife, Grace.
