Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs
Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

The festival will be held on the Bloemfontein Campus in the Callie Human Centre on 27 April 2013 from 09:45 - 13:00 and on the Qwaqwa Campus in the Nelson Mandela Hall on 4 May 2013 from 12:00 - 15:00.
You are invited to:
- observe the sun through a specially equipped telescope;
- witness the launching of demo rockets;
- see exhibits explaining how astronomy and other sciences interact
- hear the latest news about SKA-South Africa and astronomy developments in Bloemfontein
- explore the latest astronomy applications for your iPhone/ iPad
Entrance is free and you are welcome to bring the whole family. There will be tuck-shop facilities available as well as products from exhibitors to be bought.
