Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs
Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

Go bold – and make both CANSA and Kovsies win!

Kovsies is about to literally ‘come to a head’ with Tuks, UCT and Wits to see whose students can get the greatest number of heads shaved or sprayed. The residence and faculty with the most shaved and sprayed heads will be named SAMSA CANSA Champions in the fight against cancer.
The event is organised by CANSA (Cancer Association South Africa) in association with SAMSA (South African Medical Students Association)
