Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

UFS congratulates doctorandi

The University of the Free State (UFS) awarded 32 doctorate degrees during this week's autumn graduation ceremony. Among the guests attending the chancellor's dinner, where the doctorandi's were congratulated, were, from the left: Prof. Hendrik Swart (Departmental Chairperson of the UFS Department of Physics and promoter of Dr Rochelle Conradie), Dr Conradie (Ph.D. in Physics), Dr Moagi Letso (Ph.D. in Animal Science), Prof. HO de Waal (from the UFS Department of Animal, Wildlife and Grassland Sciences and promoter of Dr Moagi), Dr Patrick Nonjola (Ph.D. in Chemistry) and Prof. Jannie Swarts (from the UFS Department of Chemistry and promoter of Dr Nonjola).
