Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs
Welcome to the University of the Free State! This is an opportunity to enjoy yourself and have the best years of your life. This is the message from Pura Mgolombane, Dean: Student Affairs at the University of the Free State, to new first-year students.
About 7900 new first-year students will start their study journey at the UFS this year, and Pura has some advice for the new Kovsies.

Faculty of Theology presents a workshop on religion and sexuality

Prof. Ruard Ganzevoort from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, presented a workshop on religion and sexuality in the student church of the UFS in Bloemfontein. Dr Jan-Albert van den Berg from the faculty arranged the workshop. Prof. Ganzevoort gave attention to among others the pastoral guidance of a church member with a homosexual orientation. Ministers, counsellors and students from the faculty's pastoral therapy programme attended the workshop. At the workshop were, from the left: Rev Jan Lubbe (Dutch Reformed Church Berg-en-Dal), Pastor Wandile Bangisi (Seventh Day Adventist Church, Hartswater and student in Pastoral Therapy), Dr Van den Berg, Prof. Ganzefoort and Ms Zola Pieterse (student in Pastoral Therapy).
