Helen Zille is a South African journalist, activist, and politician who served as the national leader (2007-2015) of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the official opposition party in South Africa. She was also Premier of the Western Cape from 2009 until 2019. Zille’s autobiography, Not without a Fight, was published in 2016.

The staff of the Department of Music will present the first of its annual staff concerts on 4 June. As in the past it will endeavor offer something for everyone’s taste. The artists partaking in the concert include the baroque-specialists John Reid Coulter (harpsichord) and Hans Huyssen (cello), jazz-master Noel Stockton and pianists Dana Cilliers, Petro Engelbrecht, Anchen Froneman, Lesley-Ann Mathews and Nicol Viljoen. A variety of famous and popular works are on the program including the Sonata in E-flat, Hob. XVI:52 of Haydn, the Chopin Ballade no. 1 and the Mozart Sonata in D for two pianos.
