Helen Zille is a South African journalist, activist, and politician who served as the national leader (2007-2015) of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the official opposition party in South Africa. She was also Premier of the Western Cape from 2009 until 2019. Zille’s autobiography, Not without a Fight, was published in 2016.

More than 200 students of the Faculty of Health Sciences received the fruit on their hard work the past few years at the summer graduation ceremony of the University of the Free State this week. Prof. Jonathan Jansen, Rector and Vice-Chancellor who acted as chancellor, said he hopes that students will not only take their degrees with them, but also the skills of leadership, the value of commitment and a culture of service.
