Helen Zille is a South African journalist, activist, and politician who served as the national leader (2007-2015) of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the official opposition party in South Africa. She was also Premier of the Western Cape from 2009 until 2019. Zille’s autobiography, Not without a Fight, was published in 2016.
Universities of the Commonwealth hosted by UFS

The University of the Free State (UFS) this week hosted 14 delegates from universities of the Commonwealth as part of a bench marking programme to measure and promote excellence in university management. The programme is run by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
Prof Magda Fourie, Vice-Rector: Academic Planning at the UFS; Sir Graeme Davies, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London; Ms Svava Bjarnason, Director: Research and Strategy, ACU; Ms Sandra Glasgow, Senior Vice-President: Corporate Services of the University of Technology in Jamaica, and Dr John Rowett, Secretary General of the ACU.
