Helen Zille is a South African journalist, activist, and politician who served as the national leader (2007-2015) of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the official opposition party in South Africa. She was also Premier of the Western Cape from 2009 until 2019. Zille’s autobiography, Not without a Fight, was published in 2016.

The festival will be held on the Bloemfontein Campus in the Callie Human Centre on 27 April 2013 from 09:45 - 13:00 and on the Qwaqwa Campus in the Nelson Mandela Hall on 4 May 2013 from 12:00 - 15:00.
You are invited to:
- observe the sun through a specially equipped telescope;
- witness the launching of demo rockets;
- see exhibits explaining how astronomy and other sciences interact
- hear the latest news about SKA-South Africa and astronomy developments in Bloemfontein
- explore the latest astronomy applications for your iPhone/ iPad
Entrance is free and you are welcome to bring the whole family. There will be tuck-shop facilities available as well as products from exhibitors to be bought.
