Helen Zille is a South African journalist, activist, and politician who served as the national leader (2007-2015) of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the official opposition party in South Africa. She was also Premier of the Western Cape from 2009 until 2019. Zille’s autobiography, Not without a Fight, was published in 2016.
Academic receives Stals Prize

The Stals Prize for Economic and Management Sciences was awarded to Prof. Dave Lubbe from the University of the Free State’s (UFS) Centre for Accounting by the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns. Prof. Lubbe is the first chartered accountant to receive this prestigious award. Over and above this achievement, Prof. Lubbe is also the writer of the first Afrikaans hand book for Auditing and is the first person in South Africa to obtain a doctorate in Auditing. He specialises in corporate management and business ethics and has acted as chairperson of various auditing committees in the private and government sector.
