Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

UFS appoints George Fivaz for safety plan

The University of the Free State (UFS) appointed Mr George Fivaz, former commissioner of the South African Police Services to conduct an investigation on campus safety and to compile an effective safety plan for the three campuses of the UFS. He visited the UFS Main Campus this week together with his investigating team from Ramathe Fivaz Policing Advisory Services.
