Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Education students receive bursaries from FEDSAS

2009-04-20

Two first-year students from the University of the Free State’s (UFS) Faculty of Education recently received a bursary to the value of R4 000 each from the Federation of South African Schools (FEDSAS). This is the seventh year that education bursaries are awarded to first-year students of the UFS.
