Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

UFS residences receive training equipment from Steinhoff

Hannes Lombard and Rockey le Roux, rugby official at Kovsie rugby.

Steinhoff International, the main sponsor of hostel rugby, sponsored each men’s hostel at the University of the Free State (UFS) with five tackle bags as well as match balls. The official handover was done recently during a Kovsie rugby meeting where the residence committee members responsible for sport were present. Veritas and Panthers were not present during the hand over.
