Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Shimlas triumph over NMMU in their second ENB Varsity Cup match

The Shimlas of the University of the Free State (UFS) this week played their second match in the FNB Varsity Cup, which is presented by Steinhoff International. They triumphed over the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) with 54-5 on their home ground.

During their first match in the Varsity Cup series they played to a draw with 30 each against the University of Cape Town.

Tonight, 15 February 2010 Shimlas will play against their arch-enemy, the Pukke. This match which will take place on the Fanie du Toit Stadium will be broadcasted on SuperSport.
