Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

Prof. Kroukamp honoured for outstanding leadership

An honours award for outstanding leadership and service was conferred upon Prof. Hendri Kroukamp, Secundus Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS), at the 28th Conference of the International Association for Schools and Institutes of Administration in Bali, Indonesia in July, 2010. At the same conference Prof. Kroukamp was also re-elected as the African representative of the Association.
