Dr Samantha Potgieter, infectious disease expert at the Universitas Academic Hospital and affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of the Free State (UFS), will answer questions about the COVID-19 vaccine and its affects.  

The webinar will address questions such as the following:

• what vaccination is and how it works
• how vaccines are developed and how we know they are safe and effective
• how the COVID-19 vaccine works and how it can protect you
• the side effects of the vaccine
• the risks vs benefits of the vaccine.

UFS proud host of international hockey

Upon insistence of Giles Bonnet, head coach of the South African women's hockey team, this year's practice camps and trial matches between the women's hockey teams from South Africa, Belgium and China will be held on the astros of our university.

The programme is as follows:

Wednesday, 2 February:
SA vs. China at 19:00
Thursday, 3 February:
China vs. SA at 19:00
Friday, 4 February:
Belgium vs. China at 19:00
Saturday, 5 February:
SA vs. China at 17:00
Sunday, 6 February:
Belgium vs. SA at 17:00
Monday, 7 February:
Belgium vs. SA at 16:00
Tuesday, 8 February:
Belgium vs. SA at 16:00

Tickets will be sold at the gate.
